Employment Opportunity at Braswell

Outreach Story Reader:  Braswell Memorial Public Library seeks a highly competent individual to provide language enriched story reading programs to children from infancy to 5 years of age in day care centers in Nash County and at the library.  In addition, this employee assists in the delivery of books and materials for the Book Bag Program to children at day care centers in Nash County and in the presentation of family literacy programs and child care teacher training workshops at locations throughout Nash County and at Braswell Memorial Library. 

Qualifications:  Well qualified applicants will have an associate's degree, basic computer literacy skills, including knowledge of and familiarity in using the Internet, Windows and Microsoft software products, and a valid N.C. driver's license. Highly desirable are basic understanding of child development, familiarity with children's books, proficiency at presenting story times and the ability to work with both small and large groups of children and with adults.  

Duration of work:  16 hours per week for approximately 47 weeks/year. 

Hourly rate: $16.54 per hour.
