The Friends of Braswell Memorial Public Library, Inc. (FBMPL) is a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit corporation  devoted to making Braswell Memorial Library one of the top libraries in North Carolina. 

The by-laws of the organization state that the mission of the FBMPL is to:

·     Foster and encourage the growth and improvement of library services to the citizens of the area;
·     Support vigorously a program for enlarging and extending services and resources in the library system; and,
·     Aid in providing adequate housing and other facilities for the library system.

The Friends provide:

·     Funds to be used for special projects
·     Funds to be used for purchase of library materials
·     Sponsorship of special programs for children and adults
·     Volunteer assistance at library events and programs
·     Support of annual staff recognition
·     Sponsorship of special events to raise monies to promote, encourage, and improve library services.

For 2008-2009 (July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009) membership opportunities are being expanded in support of the new Friends of Braswell Memorial Public Library Acorn Society.  The Friends Acorn Society giving levels are:

·     Wooden Acorn  $20 - $199

·     Pewter Acorn $200 - $399

·     Copper Acorn $400 - $599

·     Bronze Acorn $600 - $799

·     Silver Acorn $800 - $999

·     Gold Acorn  $1,000 - $4,999

·     Platinum Acorn $5,000 or more

All checks should be made payable to Friends of Braswell Memorial Library and mailed to: Friends of BML, 727 North Grace Street, Rocky Mount, NC  27804

Friends of Braswell Memorial Public Library, Inc. (FBMPL) is a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit organization.  No goods or services are received in exchange for membership fees; contributions to FBMPL are tax-deductible for federal income tax purposes.  Please call (252) 442-1951 Ext. 252 with any questions.
